About with Friends garden maintenance is keeping Norfolk gardens beautiful.

Gardening with Friends is run by a team of adults with learning disabilities and their support staff.

Our head gardener Andy has over 15 years of horticultural experience. We can provide a variety of gardening services from simple weeding and path tidying to regular lawn cutting, bed clearance and planting. We also undertake garden landscaping services such as laying paving stones, fence painting and large shrub removal.

We work with regular and one-off customers in their own home and provide services for local hotels and pubs.

Our teams are made up from a mix of our work-skills members supported by experienced staff and volunteers and are usually a minimum of four people.

When do we do it?

Our gardening teams work Monday to Friday, five days a week all through the year. Times can vary on site dependant on distance and travel time but normal hours are between 9.30am and 4pm.

Special one-off work may be arranged outside these hours by prior agreement and availability of team members.

What does it cost?

We charge an hourly rate dependent on the complexity and equipment required for the job.

Our standard hourly rate is £15.00 for the whole team (up to 6 people made up of 2 staff and 4 members) payable on the day (unless prior payment arrangement has been agreed).

So for all your garden maintenance including

  • Fencing
  • Lawns cut, turfed or seeded
  • Raised beds made to order
  • Low maintenance gardens
  • Fence painting
  • Shed erecting

We can help with any horticultural task – just call us to fine out more.

Many thanks again for J’s lovely break in Derbyshire with About with Friends. He really enjoyed himself, had loads of fun and told us all about the cable cars, stepping stones, cinema, meals out, etc.! We would be very grateful if you could pass on our sincere thanks to all the staff who organised the holiday and supported our youngsters to enable them to have such a wonderful time. We are also very grateful as we, ourselves, were able to enjoy a short break in Paris, which was wonderful and recharged our batteries!

Having spent many years in school with little improvements in I’s behaviour and speech, in just a few weeks with you the improvements in both areas are plain to see. Please continue as you are, as life at the moment for us as a family is greatly improved because of your input.

I haven’t seen D for ages and he looks like a new man . The stress has gone from his face – he looks great Well done !!!!

I’ve got my life back

We cannot tell you what AWF means to us as a family – a lifeline, a light in the dark. Something that has offered our daughter equality, to have a social life and really support us as a family.

Over the last five years I have had a fortnightly, 2 hour designated gardening slot. I highly value your service and ethos.

This is the best transition I have had for a student in the whole five years I have taught 6th formers!

About with Friends and you particularly, have done some great work with excellent outcomes for D. I was particularly pleased to hear that you are working on integration with the Youth Group as I felt he would miss out on peer interaction if he didn’t come to college.

A big thank you to yourself and the About with Friends staff for another great trip! J had a fantastic time, going on the Harry Potter Studio Tour, which he had wanted to do for ages and ages.

AWF offers and amazing, caring, supportive group to both special needs adults/children & their families. Since N joined you he has been to some fantastic places, met some amazing friends and done activities we would never have thought he’d do. You have helped our family life improve by making N a happier, more content, confident boy.
